Thyroid Parathyroid

Thyroid Parathyroid

The thyroid and parathyroid are two distinct glands located in the neck. The thyroid gland produces hormones that regulate metabolism and energy levels in the body. Conditions related to thyriod abnormalities which require surgical treatmnt are thyriod goitre / thyroid nodules / thyroid carcinoma and hyperthyroidism such as graves diseases not control by medication

On the other hand, the parathyroid glands are small, pea-sized glands situated near the thyroid, responsible for controlling calcium levels in the blood. They produce parathyroid hormone (PTH), which helps in maintaining calcium balance in bones and blood. Hyper Functioning of the parathyroid gland know as hyperparathyroidism which leads to increase calcium level is most commonly due to parathyroid adenoma or parathyroid hyperplasia or parathyroid carcinoma. It can occur in young middle age and old patients.

Both glands play crucial roles in the body's endocrine system, and any dysfunction can have significant implications on overall health. Regular medical check-ups and prompt treatment are essential for managing thyroid and parathyroid conditions effectively.
